If you are driving to Bibinagar from the city side, the Outer Ring Road (ORR) exit most people use is Ghatkesar, commonly numbered Exit 9. From there you continue east on NH-163, the Hyderabad-Warangal highway. The Pedda Amberpet exit (commonly Exit 11) is a southern alternative that joins a different national highway.
This guide walks the eastern exits one by one, says what each connects to, and shows how to test the drive yourself. Numbers here are deliberately light and hedged. Exit numbering and distances are not confirmed against an official HMDA list, so treat them as a starting map, not a survey.
A quick note on exit numbers
The ORR is a roughly 158 km, eight-lane expressway with service roads on both sides. Public sources number its interchanges, and for the eastern arc the numbers we compared agree. But those sources are not official HMDA or HGCL documents, and one of them is dated.
So use names first and numbers second. When you read a signboard or a map, trust the exit name. When someone quotes “Exit 9” on a call, ask which junction they mean.
The east side, exit by exit
Here is the east and south-east arc as commonly listed, in the order you meet it travelling from the north-east round to the south.
| Exit (commonly numbered) | Name | What it connects to | Hubs and notes nearby |
|---|---|---|---|
| 7 | Shamirpet | SH-1 toward Siddipet and Karimnagar | Genome Valley belt |
| 8 | Keesara | Keesara road toward ECIL, Kushaiguda and the Cherlapally side | Keesaragutta |
| 9 | Ghatkesar (Annojiguda junction) | NH-163 to Uppal in one direction, Ghatkesar town, Bibinagar and Bhongir in the other | Pocharam, Ghatkesar and Narapally; rail runs alongside |
| 10 | Taramatipet | Local roads on the Abdullapurmet side | Sits between Ghatkesar and Pedda Amberpet |
| 11 | Pedda Amberpet | NH-65 to Hayathnagar and LB Nagar in one direction, Abdullapurmet and Choutuppal in the other | Pedda Amberpet, Turkayamjal, Hayathnagar |
| 12 | Bongloor | Sagar Highway and the Ibrahimpatnam side | Mangalpally education cluster |
Exits 13 and 14 (Raviryal and Tukkuguda) swing into the south and are not relevant to a trip to Bibinagar.
A few other interchanges, such as one near Padamati Saiguda between Exits 8 and 9, have been described as proposed in a single non-official source. Do not plan a route around any exit that you cannot see on the ground.
Exit 9, Ghatkesar: the real gateway to Bibinagar
Ghatkesar is the junction where the ORR meets NH-163. In one direction, NH-163 runs toward Uppal, a stretch that HMDA’s radial-road list gives as about 13.9 km. In the other direction it runs through Ghatkesar town and on to Bibinagar and Bhongir.
That is the whole connection. There is no ORR spur, no dedicated radial road and no separate interchange for Bibinagar. NH-163, a four-lane national highway, is the road that takes you there.
How far is it, honestly?
Bibinagar is roughly 20-25 km further east of the Ghatkesar exit along NH-163. That figure is an estimate that has not been measured for this article. Older material you may have seen quotes much smaller distances and times. Do not rely on those. Check your own route on a live map, and note the time of day when you do.
The honest answer on drive time is that it depends on the hour, on traffic through Ghatkesar town, and on any work along the highway. One rule of thumb holds: a figure quoted without a time of day is not worth much.
What shares this road
Rail runs parallel to NH-163 on the Secunderabad-Kazipet line, with stations at Cherlapally, Ghatkesar and Bibinagar, and MMTS suburban trains run to Ghatkesar. That gives you a second way to reach the corridor, though not a door-to-door one.
On the city side of the exit, the Uppal-Narapally elevated corridor on NH-163 is a project still under construction. Road works of this kind can change lane layouts and travel times, so check current conditions before you travel rather than relying on any article, including this one.
Exit 11, Pedda Amberpet: the southern alternative
Pedda Amberpet is where the ORR meets NH-65, the Hyderabad-Vijayawada highway. West of the exit, NH-65 heads toward Hayathnagar and LB Nagar, a link HMDA lists as Radial Road 24 at about 12 km. East of it, the highway runs toward Abdullapurmet and Choutuppal.
For someone starting from the LB Nagar or Hayathnagar side, Exit 11 can be a convenient entry onto the ORR. It does not lead to Bibinagar on its own. To reach Bibinagar you would still have to travel along the ORR to Exit 9 and then take NH-163, or use another road. Whether that beats the Ghatkesar approach depends on where you start, the hour and the traffic.
Inside the ORR, outside the ORR
Ghatkesar, Pocharam and Pedda Amberpet fall inside the city’s civic map after the 2025-26 reorganisation. Bibinagar does not. It sits outside the ORR, so city services and civic arrangements that apply to the inside should not be assumed to apply there. When a seller or agent says “inside the city limits”, ask which exact map, document or notification they are relying on.
What this does NOT mean
An exit name tells you how to drive. It does not tell you anything else.
- It does not mean Bibinagar is “on the ORR” or “ORR-facing”. It is reached by a national highway after you leave the ring road.
- It does not mean a short drive. Distance estimates here are rough, and traffic decides the real time.
- It does not tell you anything about prices, returns or how a location will perform. Access is one factor among many.
- It does not confirm any plot’s approvals, title or boundaries. Those need separate checks.
If you want to go deeper on how roads relate to a layout, our guide to HMDA’s link roads plan puts the wider road network in context, and Living in Bibinagar covers day-to-day access to schools and hospitals.
How to test the route yourself
A map screenshot is a start. The road is the test. Here is a simple plan.
- Pick two time windows. One at weekday peak (a morning or evening commute), and one off-peak, such as mid-morning on a weekday or an early weekend morning.
- Start from where you actually live or work. The time from your door matters more than any exit-to-exit figure.
- Note three timestamps. When you join the ORR, when you leave it at Ghatkesar, and when you arrive at the site.
- Watch the Ghatkesar town stretch. Note how long NH-163 takes between the exit and the far side of town, since this is where delays commonly build.
- Compare Exit 9 with an alternative. If you live toward LB Nagar or Hayathnagar, try the Pedda Amberpet approach on a second visit.
- Check the service road and signage. Note whether you can read exit names and whether turning back is easy if you miss a junction.
- Ask what changed. Before you leave, check for diversions, works or closures on the roads you will use.
- Record your own numbers. Write the distance and time for each leg. Your notes will be more useful than anything quoted to you.
Keep the notes next to the broader plot site visit checklist, so road observations sit alongside what you check on the plot itself.
Where Young India Housing fits
Two Young India Housing projects are in the Bibinagar area. Eastern Meadows is beside AIIMS Bibinagar on NH-163, with HMDA LP No. 1377/HMDA/SWDL/2026 and TG RERA registration P02000010859 (verify on https://rera.telangana.gov.in). Diamond Ring Residencia is at Bibinagar, with LP No. 000023/LO/PLG/HMDA/2021.
We do not give distances from these projects to ORR exits here, because we would rather you measure them on your own drive. Use the plan above, and verify any approval number yourself. Layout permits can be searched on BuildNow (https://buildnow.telangana.gov.in/, then Citizen Search), and our guide on how to read an HMDA LP number explains what the number tells you. For a broader document check, see how to verify a plot before you pay token money.
